Red Cross Summer Exchange Camp Assists Youth Grow

(Macau Daily) Macau Red Cross (MRC) held the '2018 Macau- Shenzhen-Guangzhou-Zhuhai-Hong Kong Red Cross Youth Summer Camp' at the campus of Macau University, from July 24th to 27th inclusive. More than one hundred Red Cross youth participated the splendid event.

It is the 14th session of the bi-annual summer camp, with the purpose of enhancing friendship among youths of these five Red Cross Societies, and so far attracted more than 2,000 participants gathering together to acquire knowledge from each other. MRC is the host this year to share the motif of “Convergence . Footprint” , allowing youth to learn concept of the Red Cross, serve the society, promote cultural exchanges around the nation, and to reinforce public awareness of Macau's renowned world cultural heritages.

At the opening ceremony of the summer camp, Song Wenzhu, Deputy Director of MRC and Principal of the MRC School, briefed the diversified interesting program, such as experiencing humanitarian, acquiring first aid knowledge, marching practice, volunteering, and exploring urban environment. She hoped that during the four- day enrichment itinerary, participants would learn in depth of MRC's mission on youth development, contents of volunteering service, and explore more about Macau.

She further asked the youths to be united, and to create fulfillment and enrichment, exchange experience within these four days. Quin Va, President of MRC Directive Council, together with Joao Manuel Ambrosio, Vice President of MRC Directive Council, Member and Secretary of MRC Central Council, Lau Veng Lin, Member and Chief of Protocol of MRC Central Council, Leong Vai Chun,Member and Treasurer of MRC Central Council, other members of MRC Central Council, Tang Kuan Meng, Lim Kie Leng, Choi Chi Long and Iau Teng Pio attended the opening ceremony.
